Hosting Tips by Event Type

What to dial up and what to skip for corporate, pub quiz, wedding, and charity events.

1

Corporate Team Building

Use Quiz with team mode. Set up named teams (departments, randomly mixed groups). Use the Wager round - finance and operations teams especially love the strategy.

Skip: Speed rounds at the start (intimidating). Ramp up to Pressure rounds late.

Branding: Upload the company logo and event banner via Custom Images. Show on screen during arrivals and breaks.

Tone: Professional but warm. AI-generated questions about the company's products or industry land really well.

2

Pub Quiz Night

Phone Play or Paper Play - know your audience. Younger pub crowd: Phone Play with leaderboards. Older traditional crowd: Paper Play often beats it for vibe.

Mix the rounds. Standard, Music, Picture, Wager, Pressure. 5 rounds of 8 questions runs about 75 minutes with breaks for drinks.

Add interval entertainment. Heads or Tails or Spin the Wheel between rounds breaks the pace and gives slow tables a chance to win something.

End on Player Awards. Speed Demon, Comeback King, Lucky Star - these create memorable finishes that drive social shares and return visits.

3

Weddings and Private Parties

AI-generated bespoke questions. Paste in 10-15 facts about the couple (how they met, favourite films, in-jokes) and ask the AI to make 20 questions. The room loves it.

Custom Images for the slideshow. Photos of the couple cross-fade between rounds. Wedding planners pay extra for stuff like this.

Music Bingo as the warm-up. Pick a playlist that matches the couple's taste. Everyone joins, no skill required.

Skip: Pressure rounds (too tense for celebration). Wager rounds (too competitive for guests who barely know each other).

4

Charity Fundraisers

Bingo first, quiz second. Bingo has lower skill barrier and gets more participation. Quiz comes after when the room has warmed up.

Use the Raffle Draw mini-game for the fundraiser raffle ticket draw. Names rotate dramatically on screen, much better than picking from a hat.

Custom Images for sponsor logos. Local sponsors pay to be on the screen. Slideshow them between games.

5

Family / Home Use

24-Hour Home Pass covers it. All 3 core games + 6 mini-games for £14.99, 24 hours, up to 5 players.

Birthday party trick: AI-generate 10 questions about the birthday person. Run them mid-night for a personal moment.

Christmas Day trick: Music Bingo with a Christmas playlist while dinner cooks. Even your gran will play.

Universal Hosting Rules

  • Test the audience screen and audio 30 minutes before guests arrive
  • Have water nearby - hosting a quiz is more vocal than you think
  • Read the room - if energy drops, switch to a mini-game or short break
  • Keep your host device charged or plugged in - don't let it die mid-quiz
  • When in doubt, more breaks rather than longer rounds
